Happy Birthday Bookie!

Today is one of my dearest friend’s birthdays. I thought I would write today to tell the world why I love this wonderful woman and why I am so glad that she was born.

She is a ball of energy, she burns brightly and shines like the sun when she smiles, which is pretty much all the time. She is brave and strong, and fearless. She loves to explore, to learn new things and doesn’t care what people think of her. She loves to travel, to go places she’s never been before. She’s into self-improvement, and takes the time to look inside and make sure she is still her at the center of it. She’s fun and funny. Gives as good as she gets. She’s a hell of a cook and baker, and treats us all with our favorites. She takes the time to remember what we like. She will sip cheap wine with you in a dark movie theatre. Is a great hostess, and throws awesome parties with themes. She doesn’t mind cheesy gifts, and gives thoughtful gifts. She’s a fighter, a scraper, but not in the way you think. She’s overcome great obstacles and by all rights should be angry at the world, instead she sees the best in it. She loves her people, is loyal and steady. She listens when people talk. She’s a awesome aunt, and has fun when she’s with the kids, and they love her and ask for her when she hasn’t arrived. She’s a great dancer, and can shake a tail feather and drop it likes it hot. She loves her woman, loves her life, and lives in the moment.

I have known you for 7 years, and am lucky to get to spend time with you. You’re so amazing and I love you Bookie, I am so glad you are with us. Happy Birthday and here’s too many many more.
